one of  the most distinctly American  institutions is the game of baseball.The game is avidly followed by a great number of  fans, either attending in person or watching on T.v. Most of the time ,the spectator  attention is focused on the batter and the pitcher. The game is not only  practiced on a professional level, but on a local, suburban level as well.
