براساس اخبار منتشر شده در خبرگزاری‌های Seattle Times و Cargo Facts، بزرگ‌ترین فروشگاه اینترنتی یعنی Amazon.com در نظر دارد تعداد ۲۰ فروند جت بویینگ ۷۶۷ اجاره کند تا سرویس ارسال هوایی خودش را راه‌اندازی کند.

در هر صورت آمازون سعی می‌کند به هر طریقی که شده از شرکت‌های واسطه‌ی تحویل کالا بی‌نیاز شود.

منابع فعال در صنعت حمل و نقل کالا که نامی از آنها برده نشده، به این روزنامه گفته‌اند که این غول تجارت الکترونیکی با چند شرکت اجاره دهنده‌ی‌ هواپیما وارد مذاکره شده است تا به تعداد کافی هواپیما تهیه کند و بتواند تا قبل از پایان ماه ژانویه عملیات‌اش را را‌ه‌اندازی کند. راه‌اندازی این سرویس به آمازون کنترل و تسلط بیشتری برای ارسال کالاهایش خواهد داد. به این ترتیب، از تاخیر در تحویل کالا جلوگیری خواهد شد.
