فرض کنید همین‌الان قصد دارید که در یک کلاس آموزشی شرکت کنید. احتمالاً بایستی یک روز در هفته‌ی خود را خالی کنید که به موسسه‌ی آموزشی موردنظر بروید و ثبت‌نام کنید. و به‌احتمال خیلی بیشتر شروع کلاس‌های شما به اول ترم بعد، یا هنگامی‌که تعداد افراد کافی برای شروع کلاس ثبت‌نام کرده باشند، موکول می‌شود. اما همین کار را برای یک کلاس آموزش الکترونیکی شاید بتوان در کمتر از یک ساعت انجام داد.

از مزایای دیگر یادگیری الکترونیکی آن است که یادگیری الکترونیکی بسیار انعطاف‌پذیر است. چون تقریباً می‌توان گفت که در هر زمان و مکانی می‌تواند انجام بگیرد. بنابراین خیلی‌ها می‌توانند از این موضوع بهره‌مند شوند. از کارمندی که وقت مناسبی برای رفتن به کلاس ندارد، تا افرادی که در نقاط دوردستی نسبت به کلان‌شهرها هستند و برای آموزش نیاز دارند به کلان‌شهری سفر کنند. این موضوع خود می‌تواند باعث کمتر شدن تراکم جمعیتی در کلان‌شهرها شود که یکی از مشکلات مهم امروز جامعه‌ی ایرانی است.
